Empire

Artwork inspired by the sheer amount of cultural history lost in order to build the 'civilized' society of today. I have learnt so much from having discussions about race & culture in the past few years, as I had not - nor will experience the prejudice that a lot of my friends and colleagues face. The amount of knowledge & culture lost in order to gain the wealth to build massive edifices to poison the minds & lands of the world is second only to the brutalization meted out on indigenous peoples. What society that still doesn't acknowledge its own brutal past & perpetuates its founding system of oppression can hope to call itself civilized?
