SATURNINI IMPERATORIS VICTORIA

So comes the passing of a new year, new beginnings and new harvests to reap. This one is quite layered with significance for me as I am undergoing a lot of change in my life, I don’t often bring up my spiritual beliefs as I find them very personal. However, Saturn in astrology represents responsibility, structure and long term goals; all of which I have set my sights on for 2025. Before even looking into the significance of the ringed planet in astrological terms, I had this sketched out during a difficult and transformative time last year, the fact I drew Crow/bird motifs into the armor and sword is strange as I had no idea at the time that Corvidae are also astrologically associated with Saturn. It seems maybe there are patterns behind the chaos of our lives after all.
I paired this with Heilung‘s song ‘traust’ on my instagram as it is an incantation from the ancient Edda translating to “I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.” Followed by verses from the song of Idisi, a spell for freeing one from hardship and binds that keep them in place. The last year I have made efforts to build my own rituals and gain more insight into the esoteric, something I resonate with through their music. I feel all these layered meanings have come together with this piece and I am ready for what comes next this year.
